During her exit, Shelby was flanked by deputies, supporters and off-duty police officers who stood in a wall outside the SUV in an apparent attempt to keep the media from taking pictures and video.
Betty Shelby’s attorney said she feared “professional protestors” could create safety concerns at the hearing scheduled for Friday.
All told, only about 30 people attended the two rallies. But the people there were passionate and said they wanted to preach a message of love, not hate.
The donations include a payment made by an officer endorsed by the state as a witness in the criminal proceedings against Shelby.
“I’ve had calls from experts and other people from all over the country offering to help,” Betty Shelby’s attorney Scott Wood said.
The announcement was made less than a week after Terence Crutcher was shot and killed during an encounter with Tulsa police.

The Crutcher family was strong in the aftermath of their loved one’s death. Perhaps that’s because they’re no strangers to tragedy.
