Tulsa Mayor G.T Bynum. DYLAN GOFORTH/The Frontier

All across our city you can see remarkable evidence of Tulsa’s far-reaching efforts to be globally competitive and world-class. Because of this ambition, in 2018 it is as true as it has ever been: Tulsa is an ideal place to start a business.

Our great city offers a wealth of resources, including economic development organizations, incubators and accelerators, meet-ups and conveners, generous philanthropists and educational institutions – all dedicated toward providing excellence in entrepreneurship.

From The Mine to 36 Degrees North, Mother Road Market to i2e, we continue to make a mark for ways in which an aspiring entrepreneur can connect. While these ingredients are all we need for small businesses and entrepreneurs to rise and thrive, it is still only part of the equation. The rest depends on people: Tulsans who care about eliminating the barriers, reaching across the chasm of silos to connect and build a robust ecosystem for entrepreneurship.

This year we will once again participate in global recognition where we will have an opportunity to shine on a bigger stage with Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) 2018.

In Tulsa, GEW 2018 will take place Nov. 12-18 and feature various conferences, workshops, pitch competitions, Startup Weekends and networking events, to name a few.

Our format will welcome different-stage entrepreneurs throughout five days curated to their goals and focus.

GEW 2018 is a great time for us to also celebrate the outstanding entrepreneurs in our communities and introduce new people to entrepreneurship. I invite you to join me as we continue to evolve the program for Tulsa’s Global Entrepreneurship Week. Whether you’re dedicated to improving the landscape here, are relocating to Tulsa or home grown, it will take greater cohesive efforts for us to make a difference here in our community.

I also encourage you to join me and the Mayor’s Office to help make Tulsa an ideal destination for entrepreneurs. For more information about GEW 2018, click here.
