The Frontier has named Brianna Bailey its new managing editor.

In her new role, Bailey will work together with Frontier Editor-in-Chief Dylan Goforth to oversee The Frontier’s team of reporters with a mission to hold the powerful to account and give a voice to the powerless in Oklahoma.

Bailey joined The Frontier as an investigative reporter in January 2018. In 2019, Bailey was selected as a member of ProPublica’s Local Reporting Network, where she reported a series of stories on Oklahoma’s rural hospitals in collaboration with The Frontier

She previously worked as a reporter at The Oklahoman, The Journal Record, The Daily Pilot in Newport Beach, CA, and The Norman Transcript.

Bailey is a graduate of the Gaylord College of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Oklahoma.

She also serves on the board of Freedom of Information Oklahoma, a nonprofit organization that promotes open and transparent government in the state.

“We are excited to announce Brianna Bailey’s move to managing editor,” Frontier publisher Bobby Lorton said. “This move will help The Frontier advance its mission and continue to expand our coverage for all of Oklahoma. Her excellent investigative stories will continue along with her new management focus.”
