Tulsa County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Maj. Shannon Clark has been placed on paid administrative leave, according to a TCSO statement.
Clark was previously in charge of courthouse operations for TCSO before taking over jail operations in 2014. During Clark’s absence, Chief Deputy Michelle Robinette will assume the administrative responsibilities, according to the statement.
Terry Simonson, governmental affairs director for the Sheriff’s Office, will assume public information duties. Simonson is paid a salary of $93,360 per year.
No details have been released about Clark’s administrative leave. The release said only that the leave would be “pending further review and evaluation of the job duties and work performance of Major Clark.”
According to TCSO’s 2014 annual report, there were 37 Internal Affairs cases filed last year, 25 of which found “sufficient evidence” of “violations of criminal law or Sheriff’s Office rules of conduct.”
