Marshall Brewing Co.’s Wes Alexander has been waiting for this day for eight years. Friday, Aug. 26, 2016, marks the first time in Oklahoma history that brewers have had the legal authority to sell the strong beer they produce to customers for consumption onsite.
So that’s exactly what Marshall Brewing, 618 S. Wheeler Ave., will do today, beginning at noon. The party will go until 8 p.m. and include music from folk musicians Desi and Cody, food from Jay’s Original Hogies and, you bet, strong beers.
Flights, pints, growlers and growlers of Wild Brew Double IPA, Double Tough IPA, Big Jamoke Coffee Porter and more will be available for purchase.
All this was made possible by Senate Bill 424, which gives brewers the authority to sell the strong beer they produce to consumers on the premises. Customers can also take some home with them.
The party will stop at exactly 4:24 p.m. Friday so Marshall’s officials can propose a toast to Senate Bill 424.
Stop by for a sip, or two.
