Iron Gate officials confirmed Wednesday that they have identified a site on which to construct a new soup kitchen and grocery pantry. The xxxx-acre lot is between Seventh and Eighth streets and and south Elgin Avenue and Kenosha Avenue. Iron Gate’s effort to relocate from downtown to the Pearl District last year was rebuffed after an outcry from Pearl District residents who claimed the project would hurt their property values and potentially lead to more homeless people in the area.
