A crackdown on homeless encampments. Followed by confusion and disorder.

Gov. Kevin Stitt’s Operation SAFE has cleared homeless encampments from state land in Tulsa, Oklahoma City and Norman. But what has followed hasn’t been consistent. The state agreed to spend up to $800,000 for housing and support services for people displaced in Oklahoma City, while Norman officials said they weren’t offered similar funding. Service providers there said the state gave them little time to prepare for dozens of displaced people.
