The brochure created to promote the training center states that employees decided to name the facility the Stanley Glanz Law Enforcement Training Center “in honor of Sheriff Glanz’s continued commitment to education and training.”
City officials are told Tulsa’s police staffing level compares to cities including Detroit , Newark , N.J., and East St. Louis. But Tulsa isn’t a cash-strapped city.
The manpower study recommends the city increase its police force to 958 sworn officers. The study “shows we’ve got some work to do,” said City Councilor David Patrick.
